TrioMetrik called Future of New Music
Max Mathews, considered the father of Computer Music, gave the keynote speech at the 2006 ICMC (International Computer Music Conference) at Tulane University, New Orleans on Thursday night. The talk was titled: "Thoughts on the Past and Future of Computer Music".
The first part of the talk focused on Max Mathews' memories and opinions on the history of computer music from its beginnings at Bell Telephone Laboratories in 1957 to its current state. The second part focused on where new music is headed. Mr. Mathews presented a video sighting TrioMetrik as representatives of the future of new music and as a fulfillment of his 40-year-old vision of an interactive networked performance ensemble.
